Ever made a purchase or done something in your house, only to change your mind? It happens. I've created a few rules for myself that I do try to follow...solid, neutral, classic are a few terms I keep in mind when shopping. A few years months ago this is what I thought was the perfect bedroom...
I found fabric. Made the panels. Then I never found linens that I loved as much as the panels. So, my naked bedroom sat. For two years. Give or take a few months. I was cruising the internet a few weeks ago when I came across the blog a la' mode. And just like that, I fell in love with this bedroom...

Same blue. Just a little more modern. And a little lighter. My favorite thing are her window panels. Solid...check. Neutral...check. Classic...check. So...down with the old and up with the new. Add the new neutral panels with the linens I heart so much and I went from this...
to this...
Here's to discovering your style!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words on my bedroom doll =) Your room is beautiful, BOTH ways!! xoxo shelli
ReplyDeleteYour room was so beautiful before, but I must admit the after is AMAZING!!!! Great job! I'm also in the process of redecorating my room and was looking for inspiration...check! ;)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the changes you made! Way to pull some inspiration and run with it. Shelli's blog is a fav of mine! Your bedroom is gorgeous... I'm impressed you made your own panels! I'm still scared of the sewing machine! :) So glad you joined Roomspiration!
ReplyDeleteLove the drapes! And the bedding is beautiful! Please share where you got that coverlet. Oh, and I change my mind all of the time too. Gets very expensive after awhile!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and inviting! Nice, soothing colors.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny. I love your old panels! Love stripes! Send them to me! :)
ReplyDeleteBoth rooms are beautiful but I really love the after. The bed just has a little more pop to it! Where did you find that bedding? :) Great job on both before and after!
ReplyDeleteBoth ways look nice, but what a change. It's like a completely different room. Love the lamps (old and new).
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your kind words!!! All the bedding came from TJ Maxx. The panels I made from painter drop cloths from Lowes and the chesterfield sofa was a thrift store find :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I too love the before and the after. Sometimes it just takes a little while to get it "just right." The bedding in the after definitely makes the space.
ReplyDeleteWow. That is an inviting space. Love the bedding. So cute. Great job on the curtains too.
ReplyDeleteI love the curtains as well...I like the two toned affect. And the bedding is awesome! Patience sometimes allows you to get exactly what you want:)
ReplyDeleteI realize this is an old post but was wondering if you would mind sharing the lighter blue paint color if you still have it. Thank you!
